Is a private fishing charter worth it for two people?
Every charter here is private and priced per boat, so two people get the whole 31-foot boat to themselves. Here is what that costs each of you on all four trips, and when it is worth it.
Updated October 2026
Quick answer
Yes, if you want the boat, the pace and the day to yourselves. Because the price is per boat, two people pay about $475 each on the Half-Day Inshore, $575 on the 3/4-Day Inshore, $650 on the 3/4-Day Offshore and $775 on the Full-Day Offshore. Add friends, up to six, and the cost per person drops.
What two people pay
The boat price stays the same from one to six anglers. The last two columns show what that means for a pair and for a full boat.
Per-person figures are a reference, rounded to the nearest dollar. You pay one price per boat.
What you get with a boat for two
A private charter is not shared with other travelers, so the day is built around the two of you.
- No strangers on board: just the two of you and the crew
- Fewer people sharing the rods, so more time with a fish on the line
- You choose the charter, the departure time and what to fish for
- Room to relax on deck between bites
Three pairs it suits best
The figures below are what each of you pays when it is just the two of you.
- ≈ $475
A couple trying it for the first time
Half-Day Inshore, 4 to 5 hours along the coast, with the rest of the day for the beach.
- ≈ $650
Two anglers after a sailfish
3/4-Day Offshore, 6 to 7 hours in blue water: the shortest way to fish for billfish.
- ≈ $775
A special day out
Full-Day Offshore, 8 to 9 hours with the boat to yourselves, from 7:00 AM.
Per-person figures are a reference, rounded to the nearest dollar. You pay one price per boat.
How to lower the cost per person
If privacy matters less than budget, a few choices bring the number down.
- Invite friends: with six on the Half-Day Inshore it is about $158 each
- Choose the half day if a taste of fishing is enough
- For billfish, the 3/4-Day Offshore costs $250 less per boat than the full day
- Book direct, with no middle layer between you and the boat
